We've seen TV mounts from as little as £10, to well up into the hundreds. It goes without saying however that the build quality also differs massively. Today, there have been reports that two models of TV bracket have been deemed no to be safe and an estimated 131,000 flat screen TV mounts have been recalled by the manufacture "Milestone AV Technologies LLC" (source - Associated Press). The models affected are the "Sanus Vision Mount" model "LF228-B1" and the "simplicity" model "SLF2". The full extent of the problem is currently unclear but it appears that the elbow joint components of the TV mount do not fit together properly; sparking concerns that the attached television may fall when adjusted posing a hazard to consumers. It has been estimated that over 130,000 of these TV mounts have been sold nationwide since June 2009.

When looking to purchase a TV mount it is recommended that consumers choose a product from a well established manufacturer and from a reputable retailer. A TV mount from an established manufacturer is much more likely to be well designed, thoroughly tested and made from higher quality materials.
